About

An operator, not a vendor.

Travis Mahoney is a director in sell-side software M&A, with a prior career in private equity.

He ran the process first, then built the software for it — and still runs the process. That order matters: the analysis works because he has been the person the analysis is for.

A small number of engagements at a time. The person you meet is the person who does the work — and he is, by his own account, the most obsessed person he knows. Firms of 50–200 people are not a segment to him. They are the specialty.

Claim one — the career

An M&A career is a decade of seeing how companies actually work from the inside — with the data room open. What makes businesses similar is what makes AI reusable. What makes yours different is why generic platforms disappoint.

Claim two — the rollout

He led an organization-wide AI deployment across a 200-person firm: roughly a million messages a year through a Langdock LLM workspace, Hebbia for document-heavy work, about a hundred Claude licenses, and a roughly $200k annual AI budget he was accountable for.

Claim three — the system

He built an internal platform that reads mail, calendar, chat, notes and transcripts, resolves them onto live deals, and flags where the record has stopped matching reality. Three months to build. Still running.

These are three separate claims, and they stay apart on purpose: the career proves the analysis, the rollout proves people adopt tools when the rollout is run well, and the system proves the wiring. None of the evidence is borrowed.
